So against my better judgement, I let the wifey take out the G this weekend to go to lunch with her friends... She loves the car and baby's it wherever she goes, but she comes back and say's have you ever noticed your car stutters every now and then when you accelerate. Being so confident in my new car, I was sure that she just popped the gas too quickly and it jumped on her, Silly Girl.

As I head off to work this morning, I get to the stop light by my house and get the green... when I proceed through the intersection, the car stutters and shutters as if it weren't getting any fuel or air to the engine... this happened twice now and I'm a little concerned that this may be a recurring problem...

Could this have just been a "Belch" in the Short Ram Intake or has anyone else experienced this... Input appreciated.

Hopefully one of your maf's are not damaged. I would recheck all the clamps and hoses on the short ram setup and make sure you aren't getting some weird vacuum leak.

My 06 G stuttered and stalled, due to a faulty crank position sensor. In reading some older service bulletin, it looks like loss of power, without completing stalling is a possiblity. Mine would die and then restart in a minute or two. I was able to creep into the dealer the first time, the second time it got towed in. Don't ask why the problem wasn't fixed the first time.

Thanks for the Advice RED...

I double checked the clamps last night and I Believe that you may have been right that the seal in the backflow line clamps may have loosened... I'll keep an eye on the clamps from now on... I think it may have just been settling from the install and needed re-tightening... Still running well, but I'll keep an ear out for this stuttering problem in the future...Thanks

You are not imagining things. I have exactly the same problem with a stock intake and it is driving me crazy. I have been to the dealer twice and both times I got the "this guy doesn't know how to drive" attitude after the diagnostic test came up empty handed. This is the second G35 that I have bought and driven hard (in fact I still have the other one - an 03 6MT sedan - no problems whatsover) so I know it is not me.

A fast launch will often result in a complete lag followed by a violent lurch (this is with the throttle to the mat and the left foot on the dead peddle). The first time that it happened, I thought that I was running out of gas! In general, I find the throttle response of this car to be far worse than my 03 and this problem just adds to that.
