Hi everyone,
I wanna upgrade my exhaust and I see a lot of people recommending the borla axle-back with a y-pipe but I'm wondering if I should just get the Greddy Ti-C system instead. I've seen vids of people with the Ti-C and a y-pipe which leads me to this potentially stupid question, is a y-pipe included in a full cat-back system? Would I be wasting money if I bought the Ti-C and a y-pipe? Help a noobie out.

I have a 2010 3.5 SR

Thanks

No it's not included. The catback system goes up until the 3rd catalytic converter on our cars, and the y-pipe is a separate pipe that completely removes the 3rd catalytic converter.

Thanks for the reply. I've asked a dozen people so far and nobody's been able to answer me. Why is the borla so popular? It's an axle-back and I've read everywhere that it's purely aesthetic and doesn't provide any increase in HP. I'm guessing a full cat and a y-pipe will add more power than just an axle-back and a y-pipe or am I loco?

The gains you'll see from a catback over an axelback are minimal on our car unless you're running a turbo setup. The main reason why everyone loves the Borla is because it sounds damn sexy. Go listen to some exhaust clips on youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I agree, Brola has the best sound but I don't know if I can justify spending the $ when there isn't an increase in HP or mileage (even if that increase is minimal). I'm not looking at a turbo (not yet anyways), my warranty will be void if I make any heavy mods like that. So what kind of increase do you think a cat-back and a y-pipe will add? I've ready everywhere between 6 rwhp to 15 rwhp (the sites themselves claim an increase between 15 - 30 hp but I have a feeling they're inflating their numbers).

the catback won't really add anything, maybe 5-10 horsepower. the y-pipe will be the mod you see the biggest gains from, probably around 10 hp.

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. Now I have to decide if I want one or both mods. Thanks again!
