Stupid question...but

How the hell do I attach a photo to my signature? I finally took a hlaf way decent pic of my car. If I put an HTML script link in my sig, it makes it too long.. since the link is like 200 chars itself...?? I've seen people with longass sigs and a pic, so i must be missing something simple and stupid >< thanks.

The same way you would put an image in posts...

Just put the following in your sig:

[img]http://www.linkTOyourIMAGEhere.com[/img]

(Obviously put the hyperlink that links to your image in the address)

Also, make sure the image size falls within the sig guidleines.

Yea, thats what Ive been doing, but the coding for my link is about 150 chars long and those seem to be counting in the max allowed chars for my sig. Is that the way it is or am I missing something? I just looked at a user that has 227 chars in his sig and a photo.. Infact I just looked at a guy who has 297 chars and a photo (the max says 255) go figure..

yea i've seen that around too, big a** photos in their sig, bigger than max size. with a long list of other characters following, how they did that idk. i had to make my sig pic smaller than max size because even at max size of 600x200 pixels, they still said it was too big? go figure.

Yeah, you need to cut some text if you want the image. I think when you see someone with a sig over 255 characters they may have had that sig before the switch to the new software and the new software didn't filter out sigs that are over the new limit.

Just tried TinyPic, the sig is still over the limit by 21 characters.

shorten your sig then thats what i had to do or include your text in the image and upload it

Yeah im maxed out on characters I think too.. cut out the "custom sheepskin" etc to give more room if you need.

Thanks for the input. I just read the message from the boss man about sigs being too big and taking up a lot of bandwidth. So ill just stick with the text list. Nothing special bout my coupe anyway, we all know what they look like and I havent been able to do anything major to it yet anyway.
