Hope someone can help me I have been looking / trying to download the factory service manual from some of the links that are provided and either the link doesn't exist or I get something that says the file is gone?? Where can I download the factory service manual thanks..

One last thing i tried to post on another topic of mine no answer, I am trying to adjust my headlights for my HID setup and am trying to aim them just right. NO! I don't have projectors and YES! I know they are illegal but can someone give me some advise about where they should hit the ground. Thank You

As far as adjusting headlights, you should only have to adjust them if you change the housing. If I'm not mistaken.

Dang I adjusted mine down and now something doesn't seem right with light distance and so on, is they're anyway to get them re aimed properly, I mean I thought I should adjust down with HID setups.

The owners manual in pdf form can be downloaded for free here

I don't know about a factory service manual that's available for free.

You were told they should put adjusted down right? That's because you're using HID's in a housing that wasn't designed for them. Because it's not projectors or a reflector housing designed for HID's it's causing glare. The reason people flash people with similair setups is because this glare is what blinds them.

Adjusting the lights down like you did only moves the glare down. While this is beneficial to other drivers it limits you're field of vision. You've effectively lowered your lights to the point where they're pointed at the ground more directly in front of the car, not at the road ahead. Adjusting back up will bring your visual field back up but cause glare for other drivers.

The only effective remedy is to either retrofit projectors into your stock housing or purchase an aftermarket housing with projectors already installed. The problem is that even some projectors are designed for halogens and not HID's, so it still wont help.

This is why anyone who purchases aftermarket HID's should do more research prior to purchase an install.

I did a lot of research actually and I think I have them pointed pretty well, I have a decent amount of distance, I haven't been flashed in a few months, I have driven behind cops passed cops and had cops coming at me and yet to get pulled over, Talked to one to and he said most of the time they can't tell the difference because even the new halogen projectors cause a lot of glare and and bulbs have gotten a lot brighter they don't bother pulling people over as long as they aren't extreme blue or dilating peoples eyes at night.

My question I guess is where do people usually have them pointed and about how much distance do they have in front of them without blinding people still.

I have read about projectors and don't have the money/experience and nobody seems to mind including myself when I have driven towards my car.

I'm no lawyer I still have 4 months of high school to go through but as far as I know law wise, if you turn off your headlights when you get pulled over the officer can't legally ask you to turn them back on, because he didn't pull you over for a burned out bulb. He can't ask you to pop your hood either that would require a warrant. Like I said they will have a tough time proving it when you get pulled over because you can say no to having him look for HIDs. Mind you if they are super aqua freakin blue like I have seen driving away might be a problem.

Aren't those Ebay halo versa projectors designed for halogens anyways??

Legally, a cop CAN ask you to turn them on or search under the hood if he has "probable cause." If the engine sounds modified, observing people flashing headlights at you, or just observing excessive brightness or glare out of your lights all constitute justification for an officer to inspect your vehicle.

You have the right to refuse his search of the contents of the car, but you're going to lose if he just wants to see how roadworthy or modified the car is. In that case he's not looking for contraband that would require a warrant.

My wife's a longtime L.A. deputy.

Alright like I said I'm no expert nor do I have any experience I'm just going by what I heard, I think warrant might have been the wrong word since that is like you said drugs and such. Still you could refuse to have them search your vehicle am I wrong?? I'm just saying they can't ask you to pop your hood without giving you a reason for decent probable cause and the fact that it is just HID lights seems a little far out there. I get what you are saying though, a loud engine very different.

I may be backing myself into a corner here but like I said I'm just going by what a State Trooper I know had told me about pulling someone over for lights and what a family lawyer had told me about an officer searching your car for modifications.

Probably what would happen is the cop would observe the lights at night and write a fix-it ticket to correct them so they don't blind other drivers. Either adjusting them so the light and glare points down or replacing the lights. Not a major deal.
