Alright, a friend at work has a plymouth duster, and I was wondering the specs on it, so I checked around using google.com and came upon a kids page with a 93 duster. Well stock, it had 140 hp, and 170 lb foot of torque...I was thoroughly unimpressed, plus, it was a SOHC and front wheel drive. Well I got to reading his page, and he said a lot of bull sh.it about his car/RWD cars...I wish he had a link to email him, but he didn't so I couldn't bi.tch him out. He said Bosch spark plugs gave him another 3hp, and adding a K&N filter, another 3 hp...All BS figures right there. That didn't offend me too much, at least he didn't say they gave him 5hp each. So I go down on the page, and the kids like, "FWD cars can get much more HP with the same mods as a RWD car,, and then RWD cars suck, because they UNDERSTEER and fishtail...first the kid gets the understeer part wrong, after saying that the cars suck. If he knows so much about horsepower, I'm surprised he thought plugs added 5! Apparently he doesn't know that in a drag race a RWD car has the advantage, because all of the weight is transferred to the rear wheels for best traction at launch. Then he goes on to say that AWD cars get the most HP/ are the best cars. (His wording was confusing, you couldn't tell if he was saying that AWD cars got the most HP to the ground, or that AWD cars handled the best.) Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I was pretty positive that AWD cars had MUCH MORE DRIVELINE loss than a RWD car, or a FWD car... I just thought I had to share this with someone, it pissed me off to see that he was bashing RWD cars...at least a 240 isn't on his kill list!:ylsuper Here's the exact quote from the page:"stock
Understand that the HP to a front-wheel drive vehicle is better than the same HP to a real-wheel drive. This is because the power on a front-wheel drive car is right next to the axle getting all of the power. How else do you explain the 250 HP Ford Taurus SHO being faster STOCK than the 290 HP Ford SVT Cobra? Front-wheel drive. Of course, all-wheel drive is the real winner of them all, because whatever tire wants traction the most gets it. Best of both worlds. Rear-wheel drive just blows, because of under steer, which causes the cars to fishtail wildly....especially in bad weather. Three cheers to all-wheel drive"
