So everyone I found a way to make it more flush to the lid. and it worked well! Sorry, no pic yet. All I did was just grind away at the base of the lock with a dremel, where it touches to the trunk. and it made it sit flusher.
Also these altima locks will not work with your old lock cylinder, the ones from our stock key locks are to short for the body of the altima lock. Even the arm/lever on the lock that opens the trunk on the two locks are in different locations.

The altima lock cylinder is a tad longer than our stock cylinder. It also cuases the little arm/lever to be in the wrong location for it to open your trunk.
You have to modify the body of the altima lock.SO I modified it.

I had to cut it down and regroove the body...
So that the spring would sit confortably and not bind up. For the lock to retract back to normal position when you remove your key.
Now your stock lock cylinder can be installed.
Dont mind the locks being different colors. Its becuase I screwed up half way into moding the first lock and had to use another gold one.

So, stuck it in the trunk everything went right in very nicely, and now becuase of how I modified it the arm is in the right location to open my trunk with my key!!
