So some dumbass owned this s13 before me.. Friend of mine happened to own a lot and had repoed it. Had a blown engine so he sold it to me as a project car. Finally getting started on it...

Draining the oil... (cough! or should I say antifreeze... dumbass obviously blew the head)

Engine is out

Where KA24Es belong...

This radiator had pure antifreeze, non diluted.. The oil pan had a huge hole in the side that had been busted from the inside.. The interior was ripped to pieces.. The engine also had tons of antifreeze in the oil pan and practically NO OIL. Oh and one tire was completely fried off of it while all the others had awesome tread... 1 tire burnouts get you the ladies...

That's classic

I know someone who's just as stupid, if not more. Currently he's sending in his ecu to get a tune for turbo. He's not getting this turbo for about another year and he daily drives his car. He's going to be in for a surprise when his car runs like sh*t for a year.

at least they did make an attempt to make it look better.. I see so many DSMs and S13s with dented in quarters and brand new f***ing body kits...

Sorry I forgot to mention. He drives a RSX.....thank God! Thanks for the compliment.

There are a lot of jack @sses that drives imports but it goes the same for domestic guys too. This V6 Mustang guy was convinced that his Mustang could beat my little lightly modded turbo'd 2.0 liter. I more than proved him wrong by nearly 3 seconds at one of the 1/4 tracks. He claims to be a mechanic but had to tow his car into a shop when his batteries died on him

...you are aware that most of the time you can just switch a jumper to switch between stock and modified tunes right? Thats how it is on our s13 ecu's.

new v6 or old v6? the new v6's actually produce more horsepower than the old 5.0s

I don't know how the ecu of a RSX's work nor do I care. All I know is this is, this is the same guy who taped up his entire freshly painted Championship white bumper to drive from WA to CA so that he wouldn't have to worry about bugs and rocks chips. When he finally peeled off the tape, part of his $6000 paint job came off with it too.

It's a 2001 and yeah, I'm aware of the new V6's hp output. I also know that S2000s made more hp than those old V8 5.0, but yes I still give them credit because of what they're capable of.

5.0s also make double the torque an S2000 does, but you know that's cool to not mention it.

Horsepower isn't everything.

Good thread. I'm hoping you're recycling that metal scrap you have. It looks as if you are with the exhaust piping in there and all... You get paid for it too. I'm just a recycle nerd when it comes to metal, makes sense if u want nice metal parts to keep being made for cheap .

But you ARE an idiot. You think KA-E's belong in the garbage and you think 240's are freaking superior or something. Get a clue. It's a secretary's car and you know nothing of SOHC KA's.

lmao... Have I EVER said 240s are superior? No. Like how you try to put words in my mouth though. Thoughtful of you... The SOHC KA was an engine designed for small pickups... Not a f***ing car. Sorry if my joke offended you. Most people found it funny. Maybe you're poor and can't afford a DOHC or an SR? I'm sorry... I'll be nice from now on...

You are correct. Honestly, I spend most of my free time either in the air or at home with my wife and son. The little time that I do get away from work or home, I spend at the hobby shop, so no, I haven't seen your car. Romeo_rus also lives here. He has a green s14 with an RB25. When I get back from Yuma, we plan on dropping in my SR so after that we'll have to have a couple meets. There are some guys in Jacksonville that have been talking about some meets as well.

Yeah, it's a recycle bin. The hobby shop recycles all of the metal. Helps keep it cheap for our use. $3 an hour for the use of a lift and nearly every tool you could possibly need to work on a car is pretty nice imho.

I love people's ignorance. Regardless who Nissan thought the majority of drivers were going to be. The 240SX was still Nissan's entry level rwd sports car. If KA-E's are your thing, then more power to you. Go out there and prove those KADET, SR, and RB guys wrong.

Just proving my point further, actually. No offense taken.

See, NISMO developed the SOHC KA as one of it's race engines, not for a truck, but for a car. Because of it's unique head design, it has a lot more power and rev than others in it's class while also maintaining torque in the low end. The sheer amount of parts you can buy for it rivals the VG's and completely trumps the DOHC KA.

If you would pull your head out of your as$, maybe you would see that there aren't only two choices in the Nissan engine world.

I am not anywhere close to being poor, but I am also not a poor excuse for a enthusiast like you. As far as everyone thinking it was funny, this IS 240 gen chat after all.

References for these parts? Honestly, when I look up performance parts for a 240sx, I see more parts listed for the KA24DE and the SR... Hell, when you type in ka24e in 240sxmotoring.com's search, all you get is a couple clutches. I do believe you are mistaken sir. Companies are going to sell what is going to net them a profit. There are several more modded 240s with ka24des and sr20dets than ka24es. When I say modded, I don't mean your average ricer who thinks his fart cannon muffler along with his k&n filter and a heavy foot turn his 240 into a supercar.

Also, the engine was designed for torque over power with a long stroke. Hence the LOW rev limit.

And there are several choices in the nissan engine world, but the ka24e is definitely low on the list... I'd much rather see a built GTIR over a KA24E

I'm dreading it... 3 weeks of non-stop flying in yuma is going to blow balls... Plan is to get back, drop in my SR, go on block leave, drive the car home, leave the keys with my grandparents, come back for a couple weeks, and head to iraq... Fun fun.
