Since winter is approaching I Stored my 240 and I have been driving my sisters 3rd gen around. So this morning I went outside to warm it up. It likes to play this game when I open the door it locks itself automatically. So after playing that tug of war for a few minutes, it let me in and I started it up. As soon as I shut the door I realized I forgot to hit the rear defrost. So I go to open the door and The car locked me out. The only other key is with my sister in Manhatten. So I told my mom, She called AAA and I drove to work in her car

Does anyone else have this problem.

OH BTW, when I go home tonight Its right to the hardware store for some new keys.

Mine is similar but I believe it to be operator error. I just bought the car and it is my first Nissan so I am unfamiar with the remote and all the markings have worn off. When I lock the car with the remote and then unlock it, the alarm goes off and I have to re-lock the door with the key to stop it. WHat am I doing wrong and what are all the buttons on the remote.

Mine does that, too. Very common problem, due to the lock controller module. Pretty much all Nissans from that era had/have power lock issues. You can either replace the controller, or, if you feel like a bit of fun, attempt to repair it.

This problem has never gotten me into trouble since mine has keyless entry, but if I had an SE I would have been locked out of my car on numerous occasions in the past.
