so anyway sometimes a drive my bmw z3 to school. now i park in the row where eevryone in school can see ur car. i just park there bc its easier to get from my classes. now ever since last monday this jerkface with a 2002 bmw m roadster (stock) started parking behind me. First i thought nothing of it, but hes started doing it constantly and hes been coming up to me in the lot asking to "race" infront of his other rich bmw friends. Now my Z3 is SLOoooooWWWW. so im thinking id show him up with my sr but im not sure on the specs on the roadster so Im going to look it up tonight, tell me what u guys think, later

btw this is just my gut feeling , but arent the m roadsters fast like mid 13s fast??

Bhp: 325@ 7400 RPMTorque: 258 lb ft. @ 3250 RPM.

Pretty good for a 3.2 litre straight 6.

The coupe weighs 1450kg... How many lbs is that?

0-60.... a pretty frigging adequate 4.3 secs.

Youre looking at better than NSX numbers in a straight line... Itd be a hard race to win.

What are YOU running?

I don't know man. Sucks when rich folk get ****y. So what you need to find out is if he can actually drive or if he a a little ***** that is driving a car that is too much for him.

I agree wit skwerel. Find out how well of a driver he is. If he's good I doubt you'll win with either car. If you are able to beat him, it'll probably shut him up though. also what mods do you have?

I have two vids of one of the guys with a turbo minivan. One with him doing a burnout and the other with him beating a Camaro. His was a white 89 Caravan with the brown wood panels on the side. Pure greatness.

A little off topic but I just realized you have a Z3 and 240 as well S13GUY. Do you know any good Z3 sites or boards? Specifically ones with smart people on them who refuse to pay close to $7000 dollars for turbo kits (Dinan) and would rather due it themselves for half the cost. Frankly, tuning a Bimmer is expensive.

Anyway, the only reason the MZ3's put out around 315hp is because the exhaust that is supposed to go with the M3 engine had to be bent wierd due to the roadsters smaller size and is more restrictive. Otherwise it would be closer to 340hp or what ever it is the '02 M3 puts out. Unless I'm ahead of myself by about a year. I don't remember exactly when the MZ3 got the same engine as the M3. Oh well, it doesn't matter much. What does matter is Z3's may be slow but they're still really fun to drive.

M roadsters are insane, I wouldn't mess with one even if I had quite a few mods done to my SR, which I dont even have an SR. M's are light and frikin fast.

Aww hell nawwwzz yo. Get some nawwwzz hookedup up. 2 bottles. The bigs ones.

/end useless post.

Dude, unless he's a complete douche, and misses like 3 gears straight, starts out in third, or does a 1st-5th shift, he's going to beat you. Maybe not own you (because we don't know his skills yet, do we), but he will beat you.

nah sorry man i havent been able to find a board resembling nico in the bmw world. yeah it is expensive to mod bmws, maybe thats why ppl usually buy the already supedup-from-the-factory ones haha. o and just for the record, the m roadster weighs > 3100 lbs. yeah, verts are usually heavier.

If you've got the skills race him on a road course. Where I live it's near to the country side and if you go out there, there are plenty of road courses that are free of traffic.

I had the SAME exact problem. M3 rich whore who couldn't drive worth **** wanting to race me. So I said okay, meet me at the top of millerton lake. He thought it was a 1/4 mile race until I explained to him that no, I like to actually race, not see who has more money into their car and can feather the clutch the best. So needless to say, he needed to get a repainted rear quarter panel and got the beatdown of a lifetime. =)

Next time I'm going to bring my cousin's H22 Vtec fully built hatchback to take him 1/4 mile racing. :) this should be really funny.

Very good point. Again. Ask him to race on a road course if you have the appropriate skills. Trust me, nobody our age knows how to handle a car. Any idiot can plunk the throttle and the clutch. It takes some more skills than that to turn the corner.

Yeah you can. This is where people skills come in.

You: "You there with the M3. Meet me at (insert road here) at (insert time here)."Him: "I don't want to get a new paint job if i screw up." You: "Well, you have an M3 so what are you so worried about? I mean you've got the traction control and all that snazzy jazz." Him: (insert another excuse here.)You: "Come on, I just drive a 240sx, it's nothing like the M3." Him: (insert lame excuse)You: "Oh, alright then, we'll just say that I win by default."

One of the things Edwin knows is, it's not how you stand next to your Mroadster, it's how you race your Mroadster. Betta learn that.

Hmm.. M's are incredible cars period. One of my best buds has a blown Mcoupe and its a pretty sick *** machine, but not untouchable by any means. I'd say give him a shot, if he's a tool then he prolly can't drive anyway... Do it from a dig though. Thats probably your only chance.
