Yes, it really is some completely random type bulb w/ plastic housing. I wanted LED cool white to match the rest of my car and had (1) 194 type bulb left so I made it work.
Steps
1. Remove glovebox2. Drill hole to instert LED3. Solder and tape wire onto LED terminals4. Put LED into glovebox and use some type of cement so it stays in place5. Solder and tape other wires to existing car wires6. Connect the wires you soldered to the LED to the wires you soldered to the existing car wires. If using connectors w/ plastic covers wonderful. If you did not have any of them then use electrical tape over them so nothing shorts out. This allows you to remove the glovebox w/ out having to cut wires if you ever have to.7. Test to make sure lights work8. Put car back together.9. Done
Yah, the tutorial is lame. Its more to give you an idea of what you can do with 20-30 minutes of your time if you really want an LED in your glovebox to match the rest of your car. Thats all.
