hey guys, im pretty sure i picked the appropriet thread to write in so yall be easy on me.lol i have a redtop sr, and i was trying to install a narrow band, or air fuel ratio gauge(sadly it is a sunpro,so dont hate.lol). to my understanding the gauge has 4 wires, red white black and dark green. i was told black is ground, red is 12 volt power, green allows the gauge to dim itself when you switch on your lights at night. and WHITE is the wire signal that taps in to your 02 sensor pluge. which would be the white middle wire. . now im sure i wired all of that the right way....but it doesnt work still. the gauge lights up, and the meters dont even dance around like they would. which tells me somthing is obviously wrong.

i researched this problem in other threads, but im just trying to grab some more feed back someone else may have. needless to say, i dont like guages that arent working chillin' in the car.lol THANX guys.. :)

That gauge will not work with the stock skinny o2 because skinny o2 sensors work with the computer using resistance (ohm) vs. what most other o2's are based off of which is voltage. If you want that narrow band gauge to work you will have to use a fat o2 and matching e5 ecu and then tap into the signal wire. Not excactly what I would do but hope this helps.

ok preciate it man. is it just for that gauge i particular, or all air fuel ration guages? and the "e5 ecu" , does it say e5 on it.lol.??

I don't know of any air fuel ratio gauges that measure in resistance. (the skinny o2 sensor is only used in like 2% of vehicles ever made). And yes the ecu will say e5 on it. Its the black top sr20det s13 ecu and reads the more common o2. (fatty o2)
