Went to the car wash today to try and get some of that bloody pollen off my car (I hate GA in March) and the holder of the license plate that weird little black part that attaches to the car came off (along with my little Versa plate )

I guess I can get a replacement from the dealer, but I was wondering if there was something else I could use? That thing was a piece of CRAP.

I have one laying in my garage taking up space. You want it? Name your price and I'll ship it to ya.

I've removed my whole unit altogether. I've plugged the holes with what they call Fir Tree Buttons I'm running plateless on the front even though the city says I have to have a plate there. The cops have said publicly that they will not enforce the rule unless you get pulled over for another offense. Anyway, it gives the car a nice clean look in the front, seals the holes, and makes it look like I have some kind of sensor in the bumper. I've been through 6 car washes with them and haven't experienced and problems with the wiggling or moving.

I guess I'm lucky.....I live in PA where we don't have license plates on the front of cars unless we opt to decorate our cars...which I don't.

The Idaho State Police kept pulling me over when i didn't have a front license plate on my previous car. I don't like them because the bugs don't wash off them for some reason and they end up looking like #$%&. So, the Versa has a front plate, and in a few months will ugly up the car no matter how much i keep the car clean!!!

Hmm. I wonder if that would fly here in NY. I've always wanted to take off the front plate.

We don't need front plates in NC, but my car was swapped in from a dealer in GA and had the plate holder. When I took it off, I used small circles cut from a bumper sticker to cover the holes, and from a few feet away you can hardy notice them. I've got 20,000 miles on it now, and if they start to look bad, I'll just cut up a little more of the same bumper sticker and replace them!

GA does not have front plates either. My plate holder was in the trunk.

Same here, plate holder was in the trunk and man was I confused to what it was even for.

I love the flush look of a versa with a clean front bumper. Parents got me a vanity UCF plate for the front, I told them to return it, I didn't want to put anything on it :x

As far as taking off your front plate in NY or any other Northern state that requires two plates (front and back), they will ticket you mercilessly for that!

I used to live in DC and NY and the plate in the front got too dirty to read (city life isn't too good on a car) and I almost got a $100 ticket!!!

Here in GA, we don't need that front plate, so I would just leave it off... trust me... your bumper is plastic, it will rip.

And yes, for those of you who have never experienced the HELL that is GA spring... feel very very lucky. I'm practically swimming in pollen and my poor car is probably going to need a new air filter after the season...

NH requires a front plate. I was pulled over in my Pathfinder for not having one, and it was a $75 fine. I suppose I shouldn't complain though; we get away with alot up here. No title? no problem! No catalytic converter? no problem! The laws are very relaxed, or simply not enforced. I know a guy who was pulled over in an 87 Nissan pickup with straight pipes, with the plates off another 87 pickup, not inspected. The cop told him to "go home." Oh, and he was staggeringly drunk! This happened 2 years ago.

I found them a Lowes. On the hardware aisle, there's drawers of specialty screws and what not. There should be a section for automotive hardware. I believe Home Depot has the same section.
