stupid brown/white plug question?

the white/brown plug that the orange wire is gotten from near the ecu/glove box. does that need to be plugged in for the car to start? i haven't been able to find the male end of that plug for a long time and am wondering. if nothing else, where is the male end of it so i can plug it back in?

and was that connection supposed to be a cut off the plug, or a splice it into?

i've been going over all the questionable things and thats been bothering me for a while.

no but it starts alot easier with the start signal hooked up......splice in you old plug from your KA and hook up the proper wires to it...
