Stupid Bolt

Heres a question many of you should be alble to answer.

How the hell do you get the two rusty bolts out that attach the cat and the exhaust down pipe? You see it all started when I decided to install my hotshot headers. Everything went smoothly until I got to the cat. try as I might the bastards wont come off it look like the cat the pipe and the bolts have all melted into on damn chunk of rusted metal it thin i gonna stick an m80 up my exhaust with a broom and blow it up that should take care of it

You can try to heat the suckers. This will frequently aid in removal. Or you could just cut them off.

bolts on the exhaust system usually rust fast, because of the heat being a catylist for the oxidation. if i were you, i would cut them off

Also, when you put together your replacements, use anti-sieze on them so you do not have this problem again.

dont even bother trying to get them off, i would just cut them. i always do when im doing exhaust work. its just easier. if you dont wanna cut them, either heat them up/ drench them in pb blaster.

no air tools = cut it.if you got a good impact, I would give it a try first.Either way, you want to replace them with new ones, so just do whats easier.

i think i just broke them off, and then had to drill new holes in it for the new bolts, no big deal.
