Basically, my starter has been acting up. Started about a week or so ago, I would turn the key, and it would hesitate for a second, then kick on. As time progressed it had times when the starter wouldnt kick on period. The first time it happened I had a friend turn the key and hold it while I messed with the wires on my battery terminal, and it worked, within a few seconds. The next time I had no friend and was stuck outside a 7-11 gas pump. only tools I had was a basic screw driver set, so I had to get push started out of there. Up to this point I had a ****ty wiring job with the battery cables connection to the terminalsm, as soon as I got it home I went to work on that connection and cleaned it up all nice, jammed more battery wires under the wire clamp and really tightened the cables to the terminals. Gave it a shot and it started right up. The next day however after driving it around all day, it did it again. I got another push start home, woke up the next day, went out and started it no problem. Then I cut it off and tried again 10 minutes later, it didnt work. Im about to go over the connection thing again and was wondering where I should go. Im 100% positive its not the battery as I have all power to the car (headlights, gauge lights, etc) and have even tried charging it to start it again.

sounds like internal starter. next time it wont start have someone hold it in the start position and smack the starter with a pry bar or something heavy like that.

yup... mechanics special... hahaha... hit it and if it engages then your internal starter may be the problem...

Well, it actually was the starter, but thats no longer my problem. So I got the car back from the shop today and it started awesome. the shop sent it to some other guy around here who rebuilt it. Anyway, the car was drivin great all day, and starting perfect.

However, I would notice a clunking noise that felt like it was right under the drivers seat. Im not exactly sure when it happens, but I do remember it did it pretty bad once when I was making a turn. Later on tonight I went to a buddies and when I went to leave, my car wouldnt start. The starter is turning over, but the engine isnt kicking on.

When I hold the ignition the clunking noise comes on and I believe its the transmission. The shifter rocks side to side abnormally. After this I decided to try push starting it, did that three times with no success. WTF

check your fuses to start. Then check to see whats not happening spark or fuel.
