Ok I have a 95 SE. Stock KA. Was an automatic but i converted it to a 5 speed. I have a spec clutch in it. The suspension is KYB GR2's with TEIN springs. All of the suspension rubber has been replaced with polyurethane. The subframe has solid bushngs.

Here is my issue: I have a vibration between 70 and 85. I cannot figure it out. I feel it in my steering wheel. But my back tires are wearing really funny. The inside wears because of the camber but one half the circumference of the tire wears more than the other half. then the tire gets all out of whack and it shakes even worse. It isnt the rims. I have run three different sets of rims and tires and still the same thing. The wheel bearings dont have any ratcheting and all turn smoothly. There is also no play in them. I replaced my driveshaft. Still the same. I have replaced brake rotors thinking warped. Still the same. The ball joints and tie rod ends have no play. I have had 2 algnments. I had them check everything underneath and said it all looks good. the car tracks straight down the road. Over 80 it will smooth out and then come back.....smooth then come back...... it is werd. The car hasn't been in any major accident.

So has anybody had any issue like this. I am stumped. I am about to take the pumpkin and axle shafts out of my S13 and swap them and see what happens. The car has 275,000 miles on it. She handles great. Hugs the road like she is suposed to. She just vibrates and it is killing my tires. I am completely stumped.

So you feel vibration from the front but the rear tires wear uneven? Did you get a printout of alignment that showed all the numbers?

Post up an image of your alignment sheet.

How are your axles?

How is your transmission mount and your engine mounts? If your transmission mount is bad or broken it will cause the transmission to hop under certain vibrations.

Not sure about the wear on the tires, sounds like an alignment issue. Are you running stock Traction rods or are they aftermarket?

Check all rear arms to make sure the bolts are torqued and that there is no play on any of them.

Straight down the road does not mean good alignment. Get it checked for free by a tiresplus or Firestone... Chances are it's out possibly with some worn components.

Sounds like its time to take it to the junkyard... jk jk... have you checked your air filter??? :chuckle: Maybe your Differential bushings or your traction rods??
