My 90 has developed an issue now that the 91 is gone. on light throttle like parking lot throttle the car hesitates and you can hear it sputter through the exhaust but giving it more throttle it clears up.

This started last weekend when I was at my parents house. Stopped to visit and it rained hard for about 30 mins. I left and the car wouldn't get out of its own way and it sounded like a misfire but didn't feel like it. After a few mins it cleared up and finally started again. I have a code for right O2 sensor. I bought 2 from Nissan to replace but I'm thinking its got a problem with the Maf. I'll know better after replacing sensors.

Also noticed today on the way home when driving at cruising speeds and attempting to give the car a little gas say to climb a slight hill it will do the same thing and will continue if gas is pushed even further. It seems to be related to engine load.

If you have an aftermarket intake and don't have some type of enclosure at least under it, the rain will get in it and it will do that so check if the intake is still wet on a day it does this. Although even if it's dry it could still be doing that sputtering because it also fried your sensor so when you replace the sensor, try to put something under the intake to protect it.

Ohm test your injectors. I hear a couple that were at 14 or 13.8 and when I switched to the new style, popping was gone. It seems when they are on their last leg, they pop through the exhaust, I think causeing a rich condition

MAF seems to be doing ok now. Filter was dry. The oxygen sensors fixed the major problem and it runs even better than before so I'm thinking the moisture was freaking out the sensors that were already failing. The injectors would make sense. Nothing else on the car seems to have any signs of problems. I've checked my harness and all the common harness problems aren't an issue for me. Harness is in great shape. No more sputtering while driving but it does a little popping at idle and it does vibrate a little so it may be time to check those injectors before they get bad. I never noticed the idle popping before replacing the sensors but it could be one was bias rich causing the ECM to lean it out preventing the popping. I also replaced spark plugs about 6 months ago with the NGK part number from this site for NA cars and did fuel filter at the same time so the car is pretty up to date on it's maintenance.

i am having this same problem but when i shift at high RPM's as the RPM's come down it pops really loud and sometimes sputters when warm at a low idle have no problems with acceleration. could you let me know if injectors fixed the problem?
