Ok fellas. Got my new motor rb25det back in march. Carried over my old igniter chip and maf. So far have changed out new ecu and cas.

Problem: Motor runs fine at idle and revs freely. Get on the road. Has an intermittent death as in no spark WOT. Have to play with it a lil for it to come back on and keep running.

Checked: Redone timing belt with tensioner/idler belt and correct position of timing markers. Set to 15btdc check with timing gun and the cas is basically centered. ecu code 55 Going to shoot resistance of MAF and then check igniter chip. Also, have 12vdc pulse signal from ecu to igniter chip. have 12vdc to coil packs.

Figure it can't be a fuel prob cause i backfire when i play with the throttle and turbo still spools a lil. Seems like ignition.

ANY SUGGESTIONS AND NO DEMEANING OF ANY STATEMENTS ON THIS POST TO ANYONE WHO POST ON HERE. Need help not anger.

try checking the MAF. does it occur ALL the time, or somewhat randomly? maf is most likely the culprit. bad maf which is on its last legs can have those symptoms. when i had bad spark plug gap (too big) the motor would stutter/cut out a bit at high load, but never stall out...

i've experienced on 3 different cars (all due to bad maf).. car randomly dying while idling, car randomly dying while cruising, car randomly surging while cruising as if you're stabbing the throttle, and car dying under load.

if you check the maf resistance and the voltage, it will read normal... but try a different one anyway. i had a maf which would read normal voltage, then randomly just crap out. ign on/off a couple times and its back to normal. i hate nissan

i'm with you on that one. Check the engine harness part of maf checks good with manual. Can't find how to check the resistance of the maf itself in the manual. will a series 2 maf work? my harness is a series 1 with a 5 pin plug to the maf.

so did a lil research and found series 2 not compatible with series 1. Ended up finding this guy on ebay who was selling a maf local to me in san antonio. This guy has jdm parts galore. I frigging hate him. Like a jdm heaven. Anyhow, gave me the maf and an HKS filter. 150 total. Good deal. Not only that but i drove the car and it feels completely different. Much more powerful

adjustable FPR. From what I've gathered, the walbro raises the pressure and the stock rb25det fpr can't handle it. My car does this exact same thing. I'm installing my nismo fpr tomorrow. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem.

I've got a curious question. Do you have an exhaust on your car?

what do you mean by the MAF? As in you were running out of it, or it just didn't work. I've checked my maf and volatge is good and it runs fine. And it seems we have the same exact problem. Did you get another RB maf or upgrade to a Z32?
