Ok so here it is: Spent 6 hours in the sun today removing my tranmission and replacing my clutch. After I reassembled the car (completely like an idiot) I started up pushed in the clutch pedal everything seemed ok. After hitting the clutch the thrid time the pedal stayed at the firewall. Figureing the throw out bearing was the culprit I dropped the trans and found that it (the bearing) had turned in the fork. I had reused the clips the were on the previous bearing.

So my question is: Do I need to use the clips? Should I replace the fork? Any other suggestion will be apprieated .

Thanks J 2001 Sentra SE (SR20DE)

I honestly don't know, haven't done a clutch job yet. I can move this to the Nissan Online Mechanic section if you'd like, someone will have an answer there. Let me know.

usually when I'm in there I replace the clips for peace of mind. The clutch kit should have come with one, but either way replace them with oem ones. The fork should be ok, but either way keep us posted. Remember to lube the shaft the throw out bearing slides on.

Hi, thanks for the posts, I have since dropped the trans and ordered the factory throw out bearing, clips, and fork. Of course the fork has been put on backorder from the factory so theres no telling when i will get it back together.

Thanks J
