it is the same connector you get the codes from the ecm. Gray connector near your fuse box.

hey is my car obd2 or obd cuss it thought it was obd2 theres a connecter on the passenger side under the clove compartment next to the consol and that is were i connected the obd2 connecter.and came up with code p1605.but then again when i was looking for the a/t control unit i recall seeing a connecter(dont remeber if it was gray or not) but there was a connecter and looked like u can plug in something to it?It looked smaller then the one from the passenger side.can it be that this car has both obd2 and obd if not i do remeber seeing a coonnecter around the fuse box.

o by the way my brother things that the codes he got from pep boys when they puyt it was the oxygen sensor and a oxygen vale?can that cause it to go in safe mode and stay in one gear all the time?

thanks alot u really helping me out with this drama i love the way the car runns great just dont kick no gears.

ps are your from california?

your car has OBDII but the connector I am reffering to is the consult plug. I am not sure if nissan has a trans data wire in the OBDII connector that year but I do know its in the consult plug. The snap-on scanner will have adapters for pluging into both connectors to pull codes.

No the O2 will not cause the car to go into trans fail safe.

Yes I am in the sacramento area of california

Since your car is 95 I would think OBDI. OBDII is 96 and newer.

you are correct droll the law says 96 and newer have to be OBDII but on all the nissan models the had a model change in 95 got OBDII so they could see if it would operate as the government required.

you will have to take it to a shop to retrieve the codes unless you can find someone that loans a snap on scanner. There is no such thing as an OBDI connector. that connector is for the consult[nissan factory scan tool]

Are you in the sacramento area?
