Hi all,

I park my truck on a hill, so I have to pull the emergency brake every time I leave it. A couple months ago, I noticed when I disengaged the brake (and it was in neutral) it wouldn't immediately roll down the hill, There was a popping sound, and it felt like the emergency brake would get stuck on and then release. After the pop, it was fine. About a month later, with the same problem, the brake light wouldn't go out for about a minute, and There was some rough handling. Just today, after not using the truck for about a month or so, i had to give it a decent amount of gas before it would move down hill, and the brake light never went out.

Now, I'm thinking the emergency brake is not disengaging, but I don't know how to check it. Does anyone have any experience with this, and if so, how do I check it out?

Thanks!

braiden.

It could be the rear brakes sticking. When's the last time you serviced them?

I haven't serviced them since i got the truck (year and a half). I"m just now reading up on those procedures, and would like to get to it in the next week. What are the most common reasons why a brake would stick?

Thanks!

Tpanda,

Did you also bleed your rear brakes and master cylinder?

I didnt bleed the master cylinder but I did bleed the brakes. Started at right rear, a few pumps with no air. Moved to the left rear, few pumps and no air. Had clean fluid coming out on all wheels.

I think I have another issue with my ebrake cables.
