I am going to be digging into the issue later today .. I know I can research the problem but was just running it out here to see if anybody knows of a typical issue with these cars .

It's the rear passenger side caliper I believe .. I was driving home from work and around 60mph it started to shake the rear end to me feeling like a warped rotor . Got home looked around and notice the smell of brakes coming from the rear pass side . Also when backing into my spot at home I noticed it sounded like the brake was squeaking without my foot on the pedal just letting the car roll on its own .

TIA

Also just bought a new set of rotors and pads from that brakemotive sale . Never used the brand but from the sounds of it most people like them .

It's probably the slider pin that seized which is not letting the caliper function. You might be able to remedy that with some anti-seize, etc. If it's the piston that's seized, you will need a new caliper as I doubt you can lube that enough to get it working again.

No issues that I know of with these calipers seizing.

One issue of note about these brakes has been the passenger side emergency brake lining cracking & chipping off the shoe on the bottom edge of the lining.
I had read forum chatter on that, and sure enough, first time I dug into my rear brakes, I found the same issue!
I am not aware of any problems it has caused anyone.

Back to the calipers & pins, On my M, the lower pins in the rear are slightly different in size, shape & sealing from the upper pin. It has a double seal. I have a very early built 2006, (July 2005 build). Take note of your pins on disassembly for any differences, and what location they were removed from!

If your caliper is seized, it could be from damage due to old contaminated brake fluid in the caliper. What is the history of brake fluid servicing with your car?

Rear caliper slide pins seizing is super common on older G's and M's, at least in salt states. Yes, the caliper bracket can be heated until the seized slide pin shoots out like a rocket across the garage like a stray bullet, but for the cost of a Carquest caliper, I'd advise to just replace them. Make sure to lube the pins well and make sure the little rubber boots are secure so moisture stays out.

At 110K my 2009 M35X (NJ driver) had the same issue. Replaced both rear calipers for $550 at my local tire store.

I had my rear passenger seize a while back. Noticed shaking during highway speeds and a burning smell from the wheel after a drive. Touched the wheel and it was noticeably hotter than the other 3 wheels.

I bought a used caliper from a salvage parts seller off ebay for $25 and swapped it out. It was the pistons that were seized. Not a difficult job but you do have to disconnect the brake line and bleed so keep that in mind.
