Thought I'd share this cheap solution to removing a stubborn passenger side front CV axle. (2010 Rogue)
Cost ~$10 for parts:
- 3" exhaust clamp
- 36" 7/16 threaded rod
- nuts & washers
- used old hub as hammer part of slide hammer

Had to apply MAP torch to bracket holding the carrier bearing for about 2 minutes, then the slide hammer worked on a few hits.
Previous attempts, I didn't heat it long enough, and the clamp started to slide off, and had to be reset.

I empathize with anyone having to do this repair.

Thanks. I can't take credit for using the exhaust clamp though, that was YouTube.

I have that same problem. Used a MAP torch and slide hammer for an hour! Wouldn't budge. Had to bring it to a mechanic who used acetylene to free it. Gotta love rust
