I was talking with a buddy about a turbo kit for my A/C 3.5 and mentioned SFR's turbo kits. He suggested that i looked at STS universal turbo kits. I was wondering if anyone has used this or no anyone that has and wondering how it worked out for them going this route instead of a tradition turbo kit. Any info would be great thanks.

Yeah, I bet that would help CVT owners a good bit as heat wouldn't be as much of an issue?

the only pros to a rear mount system is that it is generally cheaper and easier to do.... but

Thats what i was thinking because isnt it generally with a tradition turbo we cant run much more then 5 psi because our trannies will over heat im kinda wondering if its worth the money.. i should do it to be the first A/C with rear turbo...well i dont think anyone else has done it

the location does not matter.... the power is what the cvt cant handle

and the heat, I believe the power has something to do with the torque converter?

The question is if the CVT can hold the power and if so, for how long. STS can't answer that. Rear mount turbo(s) are cheaper because you get to use the stock exhaust manifold(s). But then the cost maybe offset by the cost of the one-off exhaust system you'll need to fab that makes two trips across the car from the rear mount turbo compressor to the FMIC/motor, then back to the turbo's turbine.

Also the problem of where are you going to run the piping? Def enough room for the turbos in the rear but the charge piping is a different story. It's tight as it is unless it's smaller piping like 2" all the way. Then you have to run cooling lines, oil/water, that wouldn't be too bad. But yeah, I dunno, just doesn't seem like a good idea on the Altima. I'm sure it could be done, but meh.

The heat from the turbo doest kill the Cvt it is the power like some other guys mentioned.
