How much should it run for parts and labor to replace all 4 struts on a '96 240sx base? I just got quoted at 900ish for parts alone. for that i could go with a decent set of coilovers, and still buy myself some lunch. What's up with active suspension? do I have it?ast

not if you have the base. but a good set of coilovers will cost you around $1000~ so I would say go ahead and spend the extra 100-200 and get that!

GAB Super HPs are the most expensive strut/shock set I can recall, and are still only about $800, Tokicos and KYBs can be had for less than $500. Where'd you get that price? Someone's killing you.

There is little chance you can find a decent set of struts for under 300, good luck though.

What's up with the suspension of these cars, exactly? I thought it used mcpherson struts all around, yet i'm finding both strut assemblys for the front and shock absorbers for the rear. Arent strut assemblies the part that go inside the big springs, the gas part? How does the back suspension go? (I havent looked under the car much, honestly)ast
