How are you supposed to torque down the top strut bolt on coilovers with pillowball strut mounts? Of course, when I try to tighten down the main strut bolt on top, the strut spins with it. Should I maybe use some vice grips to grab the strut rod?

Don't use vice-grips.

Set the car down off of the jack-stands and the weight of it should help keep them from turning. They will still turn once the nut starts getting tight.

Yeah, the car is already off the jack and lowered down. It tightened a little but, its impossible to actually "torque it" without it spinning.

Is the steering wheel lock enabled? If not go turn the wheel until it does. Have someone hold the wheel against the lock as well. Hope that helps.

Well, it doesnt have anything to do with the wheels turning or spinning. Its the actual strut rod spinning.
