i know there are 'blues' for the 90-96, can't seem to find anything other than oem for the 97? hopefully i've just missed them. ~$105 a piece from IOS is a bit pricey, and that's for the oem.....

anyone have a suggestion?

PS- while searching, Greg and Wes refered to 'SWA' which I presume is a sponsor. could you please elaborate? SWA=???? i don't see their banner/link.

You'll have to call them as most of the Infiniti stuff can't be found on their site. Not sure of their number, but I'd guess it's on their site.

Also, Falkdesigns has some after market suspension parts of his FY33, try emailing him through his profile.

yeh, I was hoping Kevin would chime in as I seem to recall he had upgraded.sport compact only in Phoenix? at least that was the redirect from the link Jesda suggested. I'll try them on Monday. thanks for the info.

The only shocks I've found are SR Special by KYB, but they are something you need to track down from Japan. I put Tein springs on the stock shocks and it works fine, but it's harsh on big bumps. I should have some SR Specials this month. I don't know anyone to get them through. My wife's fam did for us but said they were heavy and don't want to deal with it again.

Kevin,Please let me know if you're going to get the Tein springs and performance shocks and struts to match. My Eibach springs are still not low enough for the 18". I only have about 10Kmiles on the brand new OEM shocks and struts but definately will buy the Tein's and aftermarket shocks/struts if they're not too expensive. I should have some money available in about 2 weeks. Thanks!

ok, i get the picture. called swa=sportcompactonly, and they also confirm no tokico offering for the 97. bottom line, i ordered the oem's (front) from IoS.

next question for Kevin and 97t...[or anyone who has done the job before] I ordered the cartridges only [not thespindle included]. I've done struts on my former maxima and altima before, got my own spring compressors and all. do these come out like the 'normal' nissan products, or does the strut/spring/spindle have to come off of the lower control arm as an assy, (and then compress the spring, etc. to remove the spring from the cartridge holder/spindle and then finally get the cartridge out).thanks-

-JayPS- I'm sure this is not 'news' but the fsm is garbage for the 97 front suspension. it shows an awd configuration!!

I already have the Tein springs on OEM shocks. I will have the SR Special shocks by KYB next week. Basically my wifes parents agreed to let us get stuff on yahoo! Jp and deliver to them, then they'd send to us. I got the grille and the shocks, but the shocks were for someone else on here. They said they were too heavy and didn't want to do it again, so that ended my yahoo! Jp auction buying. The person on here who got the shocks decided he wasn't going to use them, so I bought them back from him.

Tein S-Tech's can be special ordered from any Tein dealer, PN: S.TechPart number: SKN76-M1B00Spring rates: front 2.6 kgf/mm, rear 2.5 kgf/mmDrop rates: front -46 mm, rear -45 mm

As for the shocks, you will be on your own finding someone to get them from you. Sorry

Also, Jay, the spindle is part of the strut, that's why no one makes them. They are model specific and can't cross over to any other vehilce.

Absolutely true! I had the same dilemma. I've replaced struts for many cars with different brands and have no problem until I tried to replace the FGY33's front struts. I didn't know where to start so I paid an experienced mechanic to do that. I'm afraid you'll have to be the pioneer on this one. After you replace the strut cartridges, could you please let us know the procedure and/or pic would be great. I really want to change the strut cartridges myself the next time. Thanks!
