i notice whenever it rains or i wash my 1.6 sedan the strut mounts fill with water. i know there is bearing in them. should i be concerned? anyone else notice this too? yes it does have those stupid velcro wedges to direct water away attached to the cowl.

passenger side one? if so then that could have something to do with the weird noises many of us have from that side.

Now I am really wondering if the crappy design is causing the strut mount issues.

I did not have any issues for 2-3mths until I went back to rainy B.C/Seattle

I noticed it after I washed my car and opened the hood to clean up the engine.

this is definetely a bad thing. guaranteed to cause failure. this should be a recall.

glue on my wedges gave way, they are useless now. I may have to silicone them to keep them in place and keep water away.

What is your suggestion to recall? Change parts, etc.?

I would suggest relocating the drain holes so they are not right above the struts.

yep, i have this as well. for now, i sticky taped a plastic coffee can lid on top to cover the hole where the water accumulates.

i can. do we need to host pics on another site and link them to here, or can we store pics on this site? i'm new here

basically, it's a medium sized maxwell house coffee can plastic lid taped (vapour barrier tape) on top of the strut mount. the circumference is almost perfect.
