Strut mounting bearing...

Okay I have been messing around with this suspension mayhem and I finally figured out the problems with the noises I have been hearing.

I thought the problems was with the spring, but the spring is fine. It turns out that it is the strut mounting bearing that is binding up in the whole assembly and keeping the spring from turning freely.

so here's my question..

Does anyone have a idea if these bearings are greasable or serviceable in any way? I have a feeling that the Dealer is going to tell me to take a hike after having the springs put on. Also I dont have 190.00 to spend on replacing one of these bad boys.

Another thing is the strut tower bolts that came with my strut tower brace. they are actually pushing on the collar for the strut and it seems they are too long.

Someone please help, I just want this noise to stop before I go crazy.

Even just a pictture of what our Strut mounting bearing looks like up close would be fantastic.

Sorry, no answer, but rather a question. Is the noise you hear really prominent when you take a corner at a higher than normal speed? I have a knocking sound (usually only one or two knocks) that I'm hearing, and it's driving me nuts. Plus, it's totally the type of problem that would be hard to duplicate where the dealership can really see what is wrong.

I hear it then and also when I am sitting still and just turning the steering wheel...

***UPDATE***

Found out a few things about our suspension this evening. 1.) it comes apart very simply, and 2.) is is a very compact design.

The noise I was hearing in the front end when turning was caused by the bolts supplied for My DC Sports strut tower brace. The bolts were too long and wer pressing into the Strut mounting bearing. I went to a local hardware store and bought some shorter bolts. The ones supplied were about 1.5" long and the ones I bought were 1" long.

The new ones get close but dont touch the bearing. I will post pics of the differences in the bolt length later.

got everything cleaned up and bolted back in and now it sounds like the day I bought it....completely silent

So what your saying is if you have the DC sports strut bar you cant install springs or there will be a noise? Also what springs Tanabe or Eibach?

iu hope you got a good grade bolt. because when it comes to suspension, i would rather be safe then sorry if you used a bolt that isn't able to withstand all the stress.

I recently had this trouble because I lowered my car, I went to dealer he just fixed it in like 15 dollars. I think he replaced the springs coz they were on placed straight and causing the same noise which btw is annoying. Everytime to turn left or right you hear the sound. Now its fine infact I lowered it more last night.
