Coupla months ago I put on my new shocks and springs... long sotry short the driver front was making a pop/clunk noise when I turned or went over a bump... I didn't have a chance to get immediately to it so I just drove it for a while, planning to reassemble it when I had the chance. Now that noise is gone for the most part, but every once in awhile you can hear the noise.

I remember before I had the same problem after putting new springs/shocks, and eventually the noise just stopped all together without me doing anything...

I'm pretty sure it's the strut mount that's old, just wondering if it is necessary for me to take it out and reassemble it if that helps at all. If not, I'll just leave it be.

Perhaps one of the springs was not in the seat all the way? Just a thought. If the bearing was going out it would only get worse with time.

if the spring was not seated all the way at first, would it be possible that it seated itself after a bit of driving?

I find it less appealing each time I deal w/ shops. They did my fronts (because I could not remove the 2 17mm bolts and broke my tools.... they are a pain in the ***)... at first they left out the bumpstops and seated the springs upside down (which is compeltely retarded because the RS*R was upside down, how could you not catch that?)... then they re-did it and it made that noise...

while I did the rears w/ the help of a friend, and they are completely fine.

It seems so many mechanics don't really pay attention to what they're doing... I'm definitley not going to that shop again.
