My passenger side strut is hitting my hood when going over bumps. So much so that it is probably raised close to 1.5" - 2".I have owned the car since September 02 and it was already like that when I bought it. So I have no idea of a total timeline here. I have been told that all I really need to do is weld a peice of iron to the body and attach it (obviously after throughly cleaning it) to where this rust is starting to corrode the strut mount to give it the reinforcement it needs. Does this make sense? I have a feeling I am living on borrowed time here before my strut goes flying thru the hood. I just put a new motor in last week, so I can't afford to just 'guess and test.' If anyone has had to do something like this or Dr. John or Reverend D can offer some advice it would be much appreciated. Sorry for the long post.If it matters, I have a 90 240sx se. Thanks!

Err... that would be a problem... I wouldnt suggest iron because it can rust fairly quick. Try a stainless steel mount.

That makes sense! Thanks for the reply! Do you think a mount is all that is needed? Or would it be worth reinforcing the bottom end by the tire? Yes, if you are thinking I am totally ignorant on this topic you are correct. It's much better when something breaks that I have an understanding of.

Thanks again!
