Strut durabillity vs spring rate

Is it true that a higher spring rate will not wear out your struts as fast as a lower springrate, given all other variables are the same including strut model and car?

i would have to disagree with that. higher spring rate = stiffer, that means more bouncy in result. your soft strut does not provide the proper damping power to to accomodate extra suspension stiffness.

On the side note, each struts are made for certain parameter of spring rates. Once you're outside of what's recommended by the manufacture, the life of the strut is shortened.
