So at 120 the other day I noticed I really needed to calm the new 2007 g35 sedan down and I sent an email to phase2 about a strut bar and some braces...no response.

Got any other sources?

The intake is ordered and I'm gunna have to get the brakes done ....too much chatter on those "oh, **** there's a cop" slow downs! Ordered a new radar detector as well... .

Thanks

For the strut bar, try Stillen.

For the radar detector, there are onle two worth buying, and those are Valentine 1, and Escort. All others are a waste of money IMHO.

I'm in the design phase for a CF brace for the coupe and sedan. Not sure if the 1st gen sedan has the same mounting and clearance as yours though.

braces going to be able to fit over the plenum spacers? 5/16? 1/2? 5/8?

I have the 5/8" blox spacer on my plenum right now, so I'll be using that as a safe point for the design.

I'm not sure about a spacer & the engine cover. There may not be enough clearance. It's still early enough to do a brace that doesn't go over the plenum, but goes up front instead.

Price is still up in the air, because of machining cost. I'm hoping to do the first phase of braces for under $200 though.

I like the way you think

Structurally, over the top is going to be much more rigid isn't it?

I have the BLOX as well, but i still have my engine cover on. I'd like to keep it on if possible.

It is, but we have to remember something. All we're trying to do is keep the struts equidistant from each other. So, as long as the mounting arms are rigid and don't flex, we're fine.

What would you prefer?

I guess it doesn't really matter, just so long as i can get it over the 5/8" spacer

If i can keep the engine cover, that'd be best!

an alternative would be a diamond pattern with a cross bar in front of and behind the cover - just a thought (I say blindly without looking to see if there is any room or structural mounting points fore and aft to make it work)... I'll try to look in the next few days and mby draw something up as a possible solution. then maybe get the tig out and hit bluecollar steel for some construction materials

I'm hoping to do an aluminum/CF brace. If I can make the CF rigid enough on it's own, then the aluminum will only be on the mounts.

I could fabricate and weld up a strut brace (I'm a cert. pipeline welder as well as a doc) but the time and tweaking it make me want to buy rather than build one....Plus I'd have to drive to Memphis or Jackson to get the Al.
