I think I have a strut bearing going out. Does it have a creakynoise? My CV axles are fine as far as I can "see" and they dontclick. Are the strut bearings hard to change out?

Yes the bad strut bearing will have a creaky noise. You can have the car in park and turn the steering wheel side to side and it will make noise.

If you can replace struts, you can do the strut bearings. You'll need to jack up the front end, remove the wheels, remove the two lower bolts that hold the strut to the hub, and then remove the three bolts at the top of the strut. The bearing just rides on the top part of the strut.

right up to this point. you'll need to get spring compressors and compress the spring. then you'll need to take off the nut on top of the strut (good luck without an impact) and take apart the strut assembly - you'll see the bearing (made of plastic).

if you don't have a spring compressor, compress the suspension with a floor jack on the lower control arm....then slowly let it out after the strut nuts are removed
