Ok, Im looking into doing some small minor performance mods. I want to get strut bars to help out my suspension, is there a reason why there is only a Front bar, and not a rear? I noticed the rear strut towers in the trunk, but I can't find a Rear bar anywhere.. even tried Ebay

thanks guys

ps - the intake is working great.. I turned some heads coming home from work with it lol

My 3rd gen has a rear strut tower brace (Blehmco), but I am guessing because the 4th gen doesn't have independent suspension (rear beam) it doesn't need one. I am not sure about that, because I have never modded a car with a beam.

I haven't seen a RSTB for a fourth gen. I do know that you can get a rear sway bar, that will attach from the trailing arms to the rear beam. This will help a lot in cornering. I put one on my 5th gen, and it was one of the best mods for the $ that I had done.

They do make a RSTB for the 4th gen and I have one from these guys:

It does make a difference, but if you are not in tune with how your car handles, you won't notice it as much as a FSTB or an RSB.

ok thanks alot.. Im not really looking to lowering my car, but just fine tuning it in a way.

I will take a look at the information you guys gave me, thanks again.

BTW How hard is a rear sway bar job? I could do it myself?? Ive been getting my hands dirty alot more lately.

I have a 99 and I bought a rear strut bar from Custom Enterprise, the only problem with that is they went out of biz. I know the rsb are out there some where. I noticed a big improvement actually from adding it. I didn't think I would at all, but going hard around corners, it feels like the rear end leads you right through the corner. I tightened it up some more and now I can get some oversteer if I go hard enough, which helps when you know how to control it, bring the rear end through the corner. I know they make them, and if you got it, then you wouldn't have to even mess with getting a rear sway bar.

yeah, I have been searching for rear bars but I can't find any.

I did order a Otto Racing Front Strut Tower Bar, I guess after I get that and install it.. I was gonna pick up the Addco Rear Sway Bar, but I have one small question about it.

I seen a tutorial on how to install one, It looks easy enough.. just back the car up on ramps remove the bolts from the E-Brake cable and set it all up and make sure the ebrake cable isn't obstructed in any way.

I also wanna do some exhaust work, I know I want to get a Y-Pipe.. but the rest would probably come out custom from the local exhaust shop, I was told by other people they can do full "custom" exhaust for damn good prices. would the sway bar package block off working with the exhaust, as this is gonna be my next big mod.

no, your exhaust wont hamper your rear sway bar at all. the exhaust pipes will actually bend and go up over the rear axle if i remember correctly...so, you should be straight. you also have the main idea for installing it correct as well. i also have a front and rear strut bar along with rear sway bar. i dont remember off-hand where i got the sway bar but will look tonight when i get home from work. i got the strut bars from ebay for a decent price and then had them chromed to match the engine bay!!

Hey, your engine bay looks nice. Can you tell me where you got the two small hoses that go into your Injen intake as well as the upper radiator hose in the picture? Thanks in advance ...
