dont buy generic strut bars off ebay because it doesnt mean its gonna fit...it kinda a crap shoot if its actually gonna fit..

I bought one in Christmas time , it fit to my 08VersaHB.It works fine till now. Hope that it may not get rust for the mounts. However I installed the electronic rust proof from the dealer. It should be ok.

I'll agree with Kimber on questioning the strength, but not because of it's price... I'm questioning its material.

It says "lightweight aluminum", but not what TYPE of aluminum. You would need some really STRONG aluminum such as 7075.

Most strut tower braces, because of how much force they are resisting, are made out of some form of steel.

What are you planing on doing with your car? Regular street driving, autocrossing, drag racing? If you are just going do regular street driving and you want a strut bar and don't care about name brands too much I would get this. It will preform well to your best interest. Now if you want to autocross or drag, and I'm talking about doing it for real not just for fun, then you might want to get a better quality strut bar.

Normal driving will not put enough strain on that strut bar to cause it to fail in anyway.

I had the exact same kind of strut bar on my old Mazda Protege (I think I even got it from the same seller for the same price!).

The fit was 100% perfect. The brackets are specific to the car and the stut bar adjusts on the ends similar to a tie rod, but is basically the right length for the car.

The only complaints I had are: It was a 1 piece bar which means that it was slightly flexible if I pushed it to the max and that the shiny chrome finish faded badly, especially the closest portion to the engine that was exposed to the most heat.

Because it flexes slightly, it's not going to be as good as getting a nice brand name Stillen or DC one. But, for $25, it's way better than not putting one on the car at all, just don't expect it to be racecar quality. I was actually thinking of buying one of these myself!

Your best bet would be a Stillen strut bar. Its a lill more expensive but worth the money! I installed in in my sentra and i couldnt be happier!! Car feels realy tight, crisper steering, and handling slighly inproved. Its made of carbon steel and no pivot points so its MUCH stronger!! Great buy!

Hey Showcase I bet if someone were to put that eBay strut bar on your car without telling, you wouldn't feel not one difference from your Stillen one.

Well maybe... i never felt a cheap strut bar in my car. Who knows? But if you have a cheap strut bar that will flex, then whats the point of a strut bar?? the stillen one is better quality, design, fit, and will last a lifetime.

I have a strut bar (it's actually a sway bar, but that's another story...) and it is basically the same as this guy...

TWO THINGS:

1. It works. 2. It may not fit as well as you would hope (touches the plastic a bit), but you will notice a difference on the highway and in "spirited" driving. You don't ALWAYS need to go more expensive... this is something that will hold up under even the craziest street driver... just don't take it to the track, alright!

Has anybody had any experience with this strut bar yet? If it worked fine for $40, it would not be a bad investment. I'm not going to do any "real," "professional" driving, but I want it to do what it's supposed to do.

They all do the same thing, keep the body (forgot the correct word) of the car from flexing, it contects both strut bars together. If you really want, and people do this and it works, you can just get some 2 inch piping from homedepot and weld it on 2 pieces of medal and drill 3 holes on each side...WHALA! you have yourself a home made strut bar that will work just as good as the ones you can buy out there...also is determined how good you are at welding, if you don't know how get a professional or watch some videos.

btw i only got a few hours a sleep and waiting for my coffee to cool down so dont know how good of a wirte up this is...or whatever...

Strut tower braces work by reducing the amount of body roll created. It does this by tying the strut towers together, which ties the whole suspension together at one more point, and gives a little more structural rigidity to the car as a whole.
