Alright maybe i'm missing something, or it's about time to get rid of my vert. I went to a buddy's house to buy an ebay special strut tower bar from his coupe, and it doesn't fit mine, for some reason it seems to me that my strut tower base (on top where the 14mm nuts go) is lifted up a bit, and I tried to think back, and I can't seem to remember seeing a vert with a front strut tower bar, can someone chime in on this??

I have a Cusco STB and it fits with no problem. As far as I know, there's no difference between coupe and vert strut bars.

That may not be a good thing...sounds like maybe your strut tower tops have bent? Hitting railroad tracks to hard??? lol Take a hammer to it and flatten it out!

That's possible. FSM has all the measurements, so check it before you bang on it.

I have a cheapo megan racing STB on mine, and it fits fine. Our cars shoudl be identical to the coupe/fastback in regards to that area of the unibody.

More than likely, the ebay special bars are of such low quality that they don't fit, or they've been twisted/bent from use due to low quality materials and design. rare case scenario, your frame may be out of whack. Grab a tape measure and an FSM and you can do some quick measurements to check to see if something has happened to your car.

Yup! We have same valve covers from trgcoating. I just noticed that you also have AEM dryflow like I do. Cool!

I have an old school (adjustable) Cusco front strut bar, and for some reason one of my strut mount studs was bent toward the engine about 1/4". I hit the stud with a rubber mallet, and then the bar went on fine.

Pretty hard, and a few times. Be sure to use a rubber or soft fiber mallet so you don't damage the threads.

Any luck man? Was it just the studs not lining up or was it an actual height difference in the body?

I heard somewhere that there's a certain way you have to put it on. Like loaded or unloaded, something like that. Like you have to either lift the front end off the ground to remove the load.

Or maybe you have to put it on while the car is on a flat surface. (loaded)

To which of these is the correct way I can't remember.

I got a jdm strut bar for my 240 vert with sr, that fits fine. The same strut bar though would not fit fine on my buddy's 240 coupe. It would rub at the middle.

We "think" that maybe this strut bar was for a SR motor...only? I'ts weird I know - but I can verify that I tried this myself - since I was the who took the strut bar off his car.

No not yet aaron, I still haven't ordered Joe's stuff, I finally got in contact with chris though. Anyway, the strut bar was off of K's coupe (who in a few days, hopefully, will be ka-t'ed)

i have the cheap-*** ebay fustb (front upper strut tower brace) on my vert. fit perfect.

as to mounting the bars, the suspension needs to be unloaded. lift the car, put the strut bar on, tighten it up, and put the car back down.

and just a few more little tips - don't buy a rear upper strut tower brace because you can't put it on with all the supports that are there from factory.don't buy the lower strut tie brace either. not the cheap one anyway. it doesn't fit - too short.i found both of those out the hard way. i sold the rear to a buddy and i broke the lower trying to get it work.

That sounds like a winner there, makes sense, KA-T weighs about as much as my CRX lol.
