Hey ...i recieved the strut bar this morning from Jeff and i was very pleased, but i have a slight problem, on the A model, there are a hose on each strut tower that the foot of the bar will not go over. i lifted the cap off and looked and there are 2 bolts that hold it together. if i remove these to put the foot on, will that undo the strut tower as on a regular Q or are those on top of normal single bolt? any information would be greatly appreciated....if it just wont work then this brand new strut bar will be forsale to any of you that werent able to get one from Jeff.

Look up the old post "Who wants a strut bar for $26 plus shipping" or something like that. There was a couple posts about how this is done. I know I have seen the Stillen bar on an active Q. Elwesso posted a picture of it.

If you decide not to put the bar on your car, I have contact info for 2 people interested in the next batch. You could send it to one of them.

you have to release the hydraulic pressure before removing those 2 bolts. They hold the pressure hose on the strut. Jack up the car (all 4 wheels) and then open the 'brake-bleeders' on top of the struts to release the pressure (put a clean hose on the bleeder into a clean continer to reuse the fluid. KEEP IT CLEAN. Filter it through some good cheese cloth or fiber shop towels before adding it back to the reservoir. Of course its better to discard it and top up with fresh active fluid. The 'seal' is an "o-ring' so removing and reinstalling is leak proof unless you screw up the O-ring--in which case you replace it.

Not a big deal. Probable lots easier to cut a slot in the strut bar mount.

IF you decide to cut the brackets, I would cut the outside edges.
