Strut bar Install

When installing strut bars am u supposed to have the wheels off the ground with no pressure? How about should i go.

I did everything on ground.

Do it with the wheels on the ground, no one will tell you otherwise. It will be somewhat difficult to do it with the wheels in the air, trust me!!

I did mine with the wheels in the air. If your strut bars are adjustable then it doesn't matter.

I did it on the ground. If you put hte car in the air and try to take the top plate bolts out, the strut will fall off the chassis...

Holy thread resurrections batman! (at least, you know i searched )

My '93 hatch seems not to have its original geometry as the strut bar I just bought doesnt fit and, after checking the FSM, the length between both strut towers is out of specs.

Some friends are suggesting me to lift the front of my car from the middle part of the underbody and leave gravity to do the work. Obviously, this could take some time and I may need to leave it on jacks for 1 or 2 days.

I mean, this sounds logical but not sure if it is the right thing to do. Please give me some hints on how to install my strut bar.Thanks.
