Hi, I noticed that my CVT has a bit of trouble getting the car moving when on a slight hill, forwards or reverse, it feels as if I am trying to drive with my foot on the brake.............is this just one of those CVT things or something to worry about ?

What you're describing doesn't sound familiar......the basic rule of thumb for the CVT is that it should perform just like a conventional auto transmission, except for the fact that it won't shift gears and it may have a tendancy to hold high rpms, depending on your driving style and also this is more prevalent with the 4 cylinders than with your 6.

So you could have a problem, but it sounds very strange to me that a slight hill would have such a significant effect on the performance of your 230 hp powertrain....very strange. Any more details you can provide would help, good luck.

may be some serious problem. because its not acceptable that your good powerful machine can fail on a hill just because of auto transmission. you need a check for it

Doesn't sound normal, I would get it to the dealer.

Honestly, there really are no symptoms. Lag is normal, I owned a 2007 Versa that had some lag at low speeds and there was no change from 12 miles to 60,000 miles. To be honest, I would not worry at all; your transmission is covered up to 10 years/120,000 miles. If it fails, it fails. There is no preventative maintenance, and no way to "fix" a failing CVT at this time, so just drive it 'till it drops!
