cool vid. Although you need more shots of speedo/tach, and you should focused on his 1/4 mile time when he was at the track. That's the whole point of going to the track.

Also, I love Velvet Revolver, but I'd rather hear a turbo spool up.;) You should turn down the music, and try to incorporate some background sounds with it

Yea, I never thought of compressor surge. I was telling him that his BOV sounds a little odd though.

compressor surge? i jsut thought that was the sound of the small valve on the ssqv. i've heard sound clips of it before and it sounded exactly the same on a lancer.

i even made it vent open yesterday and it sounds basically the same. think i could have a problem?

ok, thats the only BOV that I have heard that sounds remotely like compressor surge, I was going to ask if you had that one, but couldnt remember the name of it.

you probably dont have a problem, and even with compressor surge you shouldnt run into any major problems even in the long run, it just slows down your turbo wheel during shifts.

ok cool i was getting nervous. i think i might move the bov over to the coldside closer to the throttle body this weekend and see what differences it makes. the car feels great between shifts. i got alot smoother when i upgraded to the hks over the bosch so im sure it helped.

I jsut used Adobe Premiere 1.5 .. I was gonna go crazy with the FILM but I didn't. Anyway, I used DIVX and MP3 compression.

compressor surge wont hurt in the long run?!?!?!

better lay off the dope bro--j/k

no really-compressor surge will put a hurting on the thrust bearings and the shaft seals. Youll blow the turbo pretty quick.

there are people who have run their turbo having surge a lot. its good to have the BOV to prevent it. some people who run the greddy type S dont realize that they have the surge, because the BOV doesnt open, or stay open long enough. spring surgury has to be done in order to get it to operate correctly.

Adam Hu has a KAeT race car which ran with surge for a year of racing. he finally figured out what was going on, and how to correct it, and his turbo lived to tell the tale.

Im not going to argue with you that surge will shorten the life of the turbo, but it will not kill it instantly. and also poses no immediate threat.
