Z axles are too long, i do believe. One option is to upgrade to J30 axles. They're the same length, a bit beefier, but they have the JDM style 5 bolt pattern.

Other than that, you might be looking at custom axles, such as the ones from LSAuto

R32 axles bolt up and are thicker.

thanks guys will look into it. I need some stronger axles. I saw the chromoly axles on phase2 but the picture has got splines on both sides and mine has splines on one side and like a hub on the other side that's bolted to the dif. is there any dif in S13's?? i'm not from the US so might be a difference??

Didn't mean to interupt the flow of this, but how about Q45 Axles? If the diff fits into our 240s then wouldnt the axles work as well?

Not necessarily, the q45's may have longer or shorter axles based on how far away the knuckles are away from the diff's output shafts. It's a good thing to investigate though.

how about some r32/j30 axles and getting them cryo treated. that would probally make for a much stronger axle.

z32 axles do not work. One of them is too long. I've personally measured them.

The J30 axles are beefier and work very well. There are two styles. Pre 1995 that have the 5 bolt pattern and the 1995 and later axles that have the 6 bolt pattern.

If you already snapped an axle and you are aiming for those times, I'm guessing you're using slicks at the track?

Anyway, what I'm getting at is your diff isn't gonna like launches like that either (nor will your tanny, but that's another discussion). Instead of getting bent over on axle costs and then having to worry about your diff, do a little fab work (not really even fab work) and swap in a Z32 TT subframe. You'll be able to fit wider tires, have a much stronger diff, better brakes, and have much stronger axles (that you could replace cheaply, and easlily).

Yeah I was thinking about that, but my problem is I live on a small island in the carribean. there are like 3 z32 on the island i think and none has crashed yet for me to buy their subframe and to get one from anywhere else is gonna break my wallet with shipping.

Ahh, true. IDK how the carribean works...do you all drive imported cars or did you have to do an engine swap? If it's the latter, you're importer could get you a subframe with one of their shipments and it won't really add to the shipping cost. If you have an actual 180sx or Silvia, you already have slightly thicker axles than we do and you'll need to look into a more perminant solution than swapping a replacement one...get a custom axle made or subframe swap. I like the subframe idea best since you'll also be beefing up the diff quite a bit.

To answer your question, I don't think any other stock made axles that are bigger and will fit in the stock pieces.Even if you change hub and spindle the ones that match the hub are still too long. You may want to try it with the stock axles agin and setup the suspension where you get a little more tire spin or add air to the tries for the same result. On 360whp we ran 11.72 at 119with no two step and slicks and at 380whp with et streets and a 2 step we ran 11.22 at 131. It can be done on stock axles you just have to have the suspension and tire pressure set right.

JDM 180sx/siliva axles are slightly larger and bolt right up.

They are larger in the center but the problem most s13 cars have with breaking half shafts is where the splines start, not in the middle. It is the smallest part of the axle and the first thing to go. Enjuku had the same problem with their car. They broke both at the same time launching the car.

Our S13's are 200SX instead of the 240SX you have there. and they came with CA18DET engines. i'm not sure where they import the cars from. they are like european or something like it. I think i'm gonna order the chromemoly axles and later on get a 2-way LSD. thanx for all the info though, i'm now a bit smarter by you guys
