strong gas odor when engine is cold

gas smell after starting when cold . remains until car heats up. no visable sign of gas leak in engine comp. can't smell where it's coming from. thanks

Its coming from the exhaust. Completely normal.

Nissans strategy for long lasting engines was to reduce teh temperature maximally at start up. To do that you need lots of fuel.

First time Ive noticed it in mine.We got down to 22F last night and this morning it was so strong I almost caught a buzz !!Not sure how exhaust would get into the cabin though , No joke , I had to roll the window down , also noticed a fuel smell around the injectors when Ipopped the hood.No wet fuel though.

Most J30s driven in a winter climate, have some sort of leak around the catalityc converter. Thats how you can smell it inside the cabin.

Ya I'm with Dominick, when I first fire up my J30 under 30 degrees, I sometimes get the odor of gas inside the cabin also. I wouldn't worry about it, unless it gets worse.
