What would be the best choice in stroking my sr20de,

I saw jwt sells 2.4litre kits but would that make the car lazy (stroke ratio?)Any personal recommendations?

Which cams would be the best to fit to a stroked motor im going to run a 11-1 compression ratio i looked at the jwt C-2

My head has already been totally reworked for max flow and precision.

what would give max effects on the motor,im not scared of making special conversions myself...

Try looking into the rod/stroke ratio, its already quite poor at 1.58, you may need a deckplate welded on to get long enough rods, and then you may have hood clearance issues...

but i see all the major companys all give stroking of up to 2200cc???

where is the ratio in that??

how exactly do you work out the stroke ratio?

A lot of that volume gain is usually from boring out the piston diameter.

Take the rod length, divide by the stroke, anything below 1.5 is usually a dog. The QR25 is 1.43, hondas are about 2 or 2.2:1...

Look up bigtoe on SR20 forum, there are some gems of technical info in his posts. Search for user bigtoe and "bore stroke" as search words, that should get you close. Websence is stopping me from lookin up the exact post while at work.

For midband punch 1.60-1.75 is good, for a revmeister 1.8-2.2 is good. Then you have to look at what the rest of the engine is capable of, terminal piston speed, valve train limits etc.For an 18K formula 1 engine you would need 2.6+:1

So wah twould it work out then if you sroke the crank to be 92mm and put in 87mm pistons?

cause i see all the companys goes for 92mm stroke and 87mm bore??

You would have to ask them what rods you use for that combo, ask them directly what the rod/stroke ratio is.

would i lose more torque with a 2.0 stroke ratio?? so it would rev but id lose torque?

cause a hondas like to rev but they tend not to go aswell after third?am i right to think like this?

what is the standard rods lengts?

That will get you started on the rod/stroke ratio minefield. First you have to ask yourself, do you want power for the dragstrip, autocross, or whatever, then you look at the reasonable rev limit for the sr20, how much are you going to spend on the valvetrain?? then look at maximising the area under the hp curve any way that will suit YOUR use of the engine. your call.

Then google deck height.
