increases the length of the stroke of the piston... In other words, it increses your displacement by making the piston go further down.

I dont think they can bore the SOHC too much. My machinist wasnt too thrilled about going 40 over on bore on mine because of the cooling issue.

with that said.

I"m curious how much they stroke it to... With the stoke already kinda long, I wonder if it would decrease the RPM the engine could safely turn...

They say they will have a

Forged CrankCustom Forged PistonsForged 4340 Steel or Billet Rods

So since you have a fully forged bottem end I would think it would be safe to turn a stoked engine at 6500.

...It's gonna be spendy.

I'd like to see some numbers before I judge it though.

A stroker kit? For some reason i dont like the idea of increasing the KA's stroke because its already pretty long. They should make a destroker kit instead...

IMO, Why give up the torque we already enjoy ? HP is a product of torque through RPM. If the RPM could be increased significantly, then HP would come back, but torque is still the king.

2.4L displacement is lots. How about spending the money on using that 2.4L more efficiently.

Personally, i could only safely see a kit taking capacity to 2.5L, an overbore i would only feel comfortable with about 20 thou, and stroke, roughly another 100 thou to bring capacity just under 2.5L.

wow, i've never seen people skeptical of a stroker kit.

the KA's stroke is longer than most of the engines in production (including V8s). but if you love the torqiness (is that a word?) of the KA, and you've got the money to burn, then a stroker kit would be a good investment.

I'd have no problems with a stroker kit. It'd give me more power without changing the powerband much...and it'd help spool up a big turbo.

Just because it is forged doesn't mean it'll rev higher. The stock crank and rods are forged! Stock crank has been modified by race builders for years now...to run up to 8k rpm.

I don't know why people are afraid of overbore larger than .020...since the factory overbore sizes are .020 and .040. Nissan is comfortable with a .040...why aren't you?
