stripping out super hicas

has ne on done this before...is it hard and what is need to be taken out...and do i need to spend any cash at all to replace things that i took out???such as steering arms ect...was planning on taking the hicas sytem out of my car is it worth it???

send the diff to me . And you will only need IIRC a hicas eliminator bar that keeps the rears pointing one direction.

yeah i know all i need is the hicas eliminator bar but i want to get rid of the wight???

The eliminator will still use the steering links on the rear wheels (now used for toe adjustment). You can take out the HICAS computer (under right rear passenger side trim IIRC). You can take out the steering lines leading to the rear HICAS assembly; you could probably replace the power steering pump and resevoir with a non HICAS unit, too. And for that extra bit of weight savings you could remove the fuse and HICAS light bulb from the dash!After all that, you might save @20 pounds or so, more if you eliminate power steering altogether.Why is this in KA?
