Hello nico, I need opinions and answers.

Awhile back my old altima sedan went swimming in a flood, so I took the rims off and threw them on my new altima coupe for kicks. They are chrome 20x10 wrapped in Nitto NT555 235/35/20 and IMO look better than the stockers, but I'm not much of a chrome guy (I have no idea why I even bought them in chrome :tisk: ). Keep in mind it will be dropped on Eibachs here in a few days.

Not liking the chrome, I bought some plastidip to see how black would look. Granted it is matte in this, I would go gloss black if I have them painted.

Sorry for the cellphone quality guys. If I get them painted would I have to have the chrome stripped? And even if I don't have to i'm wondering if I should strip them anyways to lighten them up, chrome is heavy as hell!
So should I leave them or put in some cash and paint them? Don't wanna buy all new wheels! And again, it will be dropped soon. Comments, questions, concerns, pos/neg criticism is all welcome!! Thanks in advance.

Definitely get them powdercoated, plasti-dip doesn't look good.

Agreed. I took the plastidip off a day later, I just wanted to get a feel for it before I spent real money on them. I have no clue how much it will cost or how much prep work will be needed since theyre chrome, I just hope it will be considerably cheaper rather than buying new wheels :gotme

Haha yea I know I was waiting for someone to say that  I don't know which route to take from here or if my options are limited with them being chrome. I know you can acid dip them to strip the chrome but im not sure if thats even necessary. regardless what do you guys think...paint or powder?

Sell the wheels all together. Those things are gross looking.

I agree with sell them, Chrome is heavy so you will save $$ on gas and your transmission can take a breather, and why put more money into those when you could sell them (chrome is expensive so you should be able to get some good $$) and take the money to get a new set of rim's you like. but that's my $0.02 :dblthumb:

I actually have been worried about the weight especially with it being a 2.5, the acceleration and power steering are noticeably affected. I realllly am leaning/wishing to sell them, especially after seeing everyones badass coupes and wheel setups on Nico! :yesnod

Need to figure out how much I could get for them now...

yeah man, if you are considering to sell those, then definitely do it. not only because they are chrome, but also because they are 20". i would go for 18", MAYBE 19" at most. the ride quality will be significantly better with a smaller size rim and it will look better on the car as well. a wise man named tyga once said, too much rim make the ride too hard.
