okay so my banjo bolt hole is "i would call it stripped"but my banjo still bolts down it just goes in crooked. I have found answers here that I can retap it and just use a AN fitting in its place. but was wondering what people do with the shavings if they get into the block? or would it be better to helicoil? The bolt still threads down its just it only goes in sideways. so im guessing tapping and a new fitting would be better? thanks.

I stripped mine once too. I heli-coiled it and now it's like brand new and extra strong.

I didn't even drill it out I just ran the tap all the way through it and then inserted the heli coil. Only took abot 20 mins to do, but the kit was almost 70$ from the store

Awesome write up! Does the grease method really get all the shavings off? Or is there still some leftovers? If metal shavings were to get into the block what would be the best method to get them out?

Also justin35 what size helicoil did you use and where side you get the kit at? Another thing were you able to use the same stock ball joint bolt?
