i dont know if this belong here or not but i have a problem. i got a vlsd and j30 axles a while back they were a little stripped but nut went on with a bit of persuasion. now as i was replacing my rear hub i removed the axle and put everything back on the way it was when i went to screw on the nut i notice the axles was too stripped to even catch the first few threads. is there any way for me to rethread the axle or do i have to get new axles.

you're talking about the axles's stud that goes into the output shaft of the LSD right? You could try to rethread it using a die, but that only removes material... for something as important as an axle, I'd shell out the $150 or so and get another set (or see if you can get just the one, if the other's still OK).

Well, the very end of the threads only play a role in getting the nut started. So, rethreading it will not make any difference in the functionality of it. You can get a die for it, IIRC its around a 22mm x 2.0 or 24mm x 2.0. I can't remember exactly. The only way I was able to do it was getting a tap & die kit off of Ebay.
