Stock diff?lilskyline240 wrote:i feel ur pain. one day it seemed like my clutch was slipping at high rpms which didnt make any sense to me cuz it only has like 3000 miles on it but i was also hearin like some grindin noises in the rear end. So i thought maybe me CV joints were takin a ****. Poped the axles out and decided to drop the diff to change the fluid and found every gear on the pinion rounded off on my r200... good thing i had spare in the loft
waitin on that to happen again... stupid Rb's and too much torque
Are you running a 2 or 3 speed trans here? I don't get why you want that rear end, that is WAY too high for street driving.SullivanRacing06 wrote: i priced out a ring n pinion set for my r200 and it was 600 bucks from my local nissan dealership,
so im gonna run the crappy stock 240 ratio in there for now, ugg, id like for someone to find me another 2.90 ratio gear set! ne one know were to find this ratio?

Do you mind if I ask you what sort of power and torque you were making when this happened? I'm starting to research for a VH swap into a car that comes with the R200 stock and I'm planning on making 500-600whp and tq when all is said and done. I'm coming from the FWD Nissan world so my knowledge of the capabilities of each specific Nissan rear diff is very limited right now.SullivanRacing06 wrote:i just took apart my rear end that came apart on me on the dyno and come to see metal shavigns every where, the pinion is smoother then a strippers a$$, and the ring gear has more teeth missing then are intact
has this happened to anyone on here before? any input would be helpful!
are there any companys that sell a hardened ring n pinion set for the r200 housing?
